US National Horoscope

This is an interpretation of the chart of the USA (July 4, 1776 and 5:12 pm LMT in Philadelphia, Pa) using the sidereal zodiac and Vedic astrology rules of interpretation.  In my personal research this is the chart that has yielded the best results for natal and predictive info.
This is the chart of the definitive “birth” of the nation, moment of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Appropriately enough declarations/communications are highly emphasized and favored in this chart. There are four planets in Gemini, the sign of the communicator, as well as that of ideation and perception.  The disposing planet of the Gemini stellium (two or more planets in a sign) is Mercury which is in the ninth house in Cancer, conjunct the North Node, Rahu.

Ideation is translated to feelings and sentiments, especially that of the land itself, or the group consciousness of the nation, which is also called patriotism.  There is a feeling of bonding and togetherness, as well as happiness.
Mercury disposing the Gemini stellium and falling in the ninth house of spirituality and higher ideals, there is an exalted or almost elitist self-attitude attached to the sense of national self-identity.  Religious and spiritual values are strongly associated to its sense of destiny or fulfillment, as well as metaphysical or secretive notions.

Saturn from the eleventh house of group awareness, social mores, and good fortune, makes Vedic tenth house aspect  on the Gemini stellium in the eighth house.  Saturn in Virgo can represent a hard and enduring work ethic that puts a very practical and concrete demand on the fertile ideation of its potent eighth house.  In Leo navamsha, Saturn, then causes abuses through authoritarianism upon the Virgo working class.
Prosperity at times may be subject to withering highs and lows, exacting hard lessons on the national consciousness, creating possibly a cynical middle class.  Hard workers, but also very possibly long term economic servants to a cold and exacting ruling class symbolized by the tall buildings and austere facades of its financial centers in the big cities.

Scorpio rising for the national chart indicates a hearty drive for success, at great cost to life and limb, as told in the hard life of its pioneers, enduring great hardship amidst an arduous drive to conquer the land.  Ultimately triumphant, and forging a formidable national character with great resources to create great artifices of technology, but also terrifying machines of war and destruction that can either be deployed for great good or great destruction.  It is a fine balance requiring constant conscientious self-governance.
Mars in Gemini disposing the USA ascendant in the eighth house denotes a strong passion to project, extend and communicate ideas and connect parties and disparate individuals and groups with its philosophies.  Mars also in Libra navamsha, debilitated, pulls down the expression of Mars to brashness sometimes, overstepping its bounds and then waving its stick too much, almost in a challenging or threatening manner, and then projecting force in most fierce ways at times.
Uranus in opposition to the ascendant (or setting at the moment of the chart) denotes a great revolutionary spirit, bold and innately progressive in its approach, it is a status-quo challenger to smaller minded authoritarianism (non-monarchical) and instilling greater group or collective execution (democratic) of its goals; higher minded and non-provincial, more to the universal needs of mankind.
The Moon in Aquarius, of relatively strong radiance (reflected sunlight) denotes strong egalitarian themes and a greater love and passion for truth and justice, not just for the few but for all.
With the Moon ruling the ninth house of dharma in a cardinal house makes it raja yoga, full of great good fortune and potential in her people and vast land.  The ruler of the fourth house in the eleventh denotes great financial acumen for the people and the land abundant in resources.
A somewhat debilitated Saturn disposing the Moon may lend to some over-sentimentality, as well as inflexibility on the part of the people.
The Moon in the navamsha of Sagittarius also denotes an undercurrent of adventurousness to the people, but also a love of truth; that they cannot be held down.
As well as the strong good fortune of the conjunction of Venus and Jupiter in the eighth house trining the Moon in the fourth, and Jupiter making Vedic trine to the twelfth house making great expanses and vistas to let the spirit expand, refine and grow.
The Nodes in the Cancer/Capricorn axis in the third and ninth houses shows a great forwardness in extending love and hospitality to all with the subtle foundation of shrewd command and control of resources, time and energy and  a tendency towards ambitious goals.
Pluto down in the third house depicts possibly the pathology of opportunism and unrestrained aggressiveness destroying opportunities for a more refined self-expression of the nation and the people.  Hustle and bustle is not everything, chasing after everything makes you neglect the more valuable things right now within your reach.
Neptune in early Virgo in the eleventh in tight square to Mars in the eighth house, can show a dysfunctional attitude towards work, the honor of work, and therefore as a depletion of strength and health through dreamy neglect and escapist venues.  The sense of morals becomes highly deluded, but also painfully misdirected by a false or mistaken sense that glorifies strength, maybe visiting destruction and suffering upon others to compensate for a deep sense of internal powerlessness.

Predictions for the USA

As of 2016, so far an amazing year of American politics, there will be a set of very intense transits being brought to bear on this natal chart of the US.  The chart is posted below.
Transiting Pluto is in tight opposition to the US natal Sun and square to its natal Saturn.  Pluto is the planet of the abuse of power which many times ends in a irrevocable change in the life of an individual or nation, and one can expect a time of dust-settling after the final crescendo of Pluto not very subtle power.  It has been said that the Republican party is in a state of near collapse, no doubt accelerated by the candidacy of Donald Trump.  One might say that the campaign of Bernie Sanders is doing the same to the Democratic party.  This could be one for the history books.

Corroborating the portenTs of Pluto above is the close conjunction of transiting Saturn to the US natal ascendant, the effects could be similar in scope to the previous mentioned Pluto transit.  Saturn may have the effect of accentuating some of the psychosis of the American consciousness to be followed by a purgation or harsh lesson learned in the process.  Saturn usually has the effect of increasing the difficulty of situations and aggravating the anxieties and frustrations of the people; it also has a separating or terminating quality to it (again similar to Pluto above.)
Transiting Uranus will be in opposition to the US natal Saturn at various times in 2016, again having the effect of shaking the foundations of the national sense of identity, which paves the way for new solutions to enter the collective mindset; and there could be a distinct clash between the old and obsolete paradigms with fresher, more progressive ones.
Transiting Neptune in trine to the US natal Venus and Jupiter could be said to engender a fragile, or not-quite-real sense of hope and possibilities; but could also help install new, more compassionate themes to the national dialogue.
Right before the elections on the first Tuesday in November 2016 transiting Jupiter will be in square to the US Gemini stellium: the sense of hype and hyper-sensationalism may be very high, offering many high promises irregardless of their actual ability to be implemented.   There may be a lot of hoopla and fanfare, but when the party’s over (after the election) the same old situation may still be in place. 
Very interestingly on the day of the election transiting Mars will be within one degree of the US natal Mars, energy outputs could go through the roof in a final effort to implement ambitious enterprises, like an election for US president.  Not exactly the safest of astrology.

Predictions by Legendary Astrologer Sydney Omarr Makes a Believer Out of Popular TV Talk Show Host

“Astrology,” says the man who has spent more time in front of live television talk show audiences than anyone else on the planet, “isn’t for sissies.”
In his book, How I Got This Way, Regis Philbin, an inveterate story-teller and master of “spontaneous conversation,” describes a series of on-air meetings with the “remarkable” astrologer Sydney Omarr (his adjective).
Early in a broadcast career that spanned more than five decades, Philbin, who holds the Guinness World Record for most time spent in front of a television camera, was feeling incredibly blessed. With only a low-budget, live TV talk show in a secondary market (San Diego) to recommend him, he was asked to take over Steve Allen’s nationally syndicated TV talk show, which was filmed in Hollywood at the time.
The first guest he booked on The Regis Philbin Show was Omarr, whose syndicated horoscope column was a staple in newspapers from coast to coast. The astrologer was asked to predict how successful the new show would be.
It was October, 1964. Omarr showed up and solemnly delivered the bad news.
“Sydney fixed a haunted gaze on me and said there’s a fight going on right now behind the scenes as to what direction the show should go. He told me the show will fail. You won’t make it,” Philbin recounted.

An Earth Moving Revelation

In private after the show, Omarr told Philbin he was heading into the worst period of his life. “The earth will literally move under your feet,” he warned.
Philbin worried about the dire forecast but was pleasantly surprised when his show was renewed after 13 weeks. So he invited Omarr back on the program to see if he was ready to change his mind about anything.
The astrologer was even more insistent. He told his host the show would be going off the air within 48 hours.
The end actually arrived 36 hours later when Westinghouse Broadcasting Company, the show’s sponsor, lowered the boom.
The next few years for Philbin were as personally and professionally challenging as the astrologer had predicted they would be. Even the part about the earth moving under his feet.
Philbin owned a house on a hillside overlooking Universal City. At one point in 1968, it rained heavily for two straight weeks. On one of those rainy days half of his backyard slid into the canyon.
“City officials ordered the house evacuated. When I couldn’t pay the bills to shore up the property, I lost the house entirely,” he said.
Philbin had managed to land on his professional feet with a three-year stint as sidekick to Joey Bishop on the Joey Bishop Show. When this show was winding down after a disappointingly short run in 1969, he invited Omarr back to predict how things would go forward career-wise for Bishop and himself.
The outlook for Bishop was not especially up-beat. But the astrologer predicted Philbin was destined to become “a household name in America” and would have “great success.”
When pressed for a timetable, Omarr said it wasn’t going to happen right away. It would take another 20 years.
In his book, Philbin points out that Omarr made this prediction in December 1969. In September of 1988, his New York morning talk show, Live with Regis Philbin and Kathie Lee Gifford, was syndicated nationally and “we were well on our way to making that prediction come true,” he said.

In an interview with the Astrology News Service (ANS), Philbin offered these insights:
ANS: What do you really think about astrology?

Regis: I was always fascinated by the subject for many years.

ANS: Did Omarr’s gloomy forecast disturb you?

Regis: It sent a chill down my spine. I didn’t believe it was going to be that bad, but it was.

ANS: What was the reaction of your show sponsors?

Regis: The sponsors and most of the people around me didn’t believe in astrology in the first place.

ANS: Did you later learn that the show was already on life support when Omarr made the forecast?

Regis: Sydney was the first guest we had. His first forecast was an eye-raiser but when we got renewed for another 13 weeks I asked him to come back and that’s when he became more definite. He said the death notice was 48 hours away. It came 36 hours later.

ANS: According to a report in the N.Y. Times, you thought bringing the astrologer onto the show would be a “good gag.” Did you later change your mind about this?

Regis: I thought it was a daring and different way to start a new TV show.

ANS: Did you ask Omarr for advice of a personal nature?

Regis: Naturally I did and he repeated what he told me on the air. That like all good or bad things eventually it would come to an end.

ANS: Based on your first-hand experience, what would you say to someone who seriously asks for your opinion on whether astrologers might be on to something?

Regis: I was fortunate in those days to have Sydney Omarr join me. It makes me wish all astrologers could be as accurate.

ANS: What does the future hold for Regis Philbin?

Regis: Unfortunately Sydney is not around to answer that.
In his book, each chapter remembers a different celebrity guest and closes with a “What I Took Away from it All” summary of the experience. He closed the chapter devoted to his interviews with Omarr in this way:
“Astrology isn’t for sissies. Those stars do seem to know things we don’t – and maybe never should.
“Great things can happen much later than you might have hoped. But even then, great things are still great – and always worth appreciating – so don’t give up.”
Editor’s Note: After 28-plus years, Regis has moved on from his morning show. But at age 80 he is not retiring, his agent Ken DiCamillo insists. He’s still actively doing concerts, television appearances, book signings, lectures, and the like.

He has the sun which is really important because that is where you shine so he shines in his profession,” Miller said.

She explained the real-estate mogul’s chart shows Uranus, the planet of unpredictable events and genius, a combination that best exemplifies Trump.

“In order to have genius you need to break things and resemble them in a new synthesis. Donald Trump is good at both so he is always going to follow a non-traditional path,” Miller added.

The Libra Full Moon of Wednesday, March 23, is also a lunar eclipse, and it is therefore good to remember that eclipses are powerful. This Full Moon phase also represents a fulfillment of one or more themes that are being brought forward from the extremely potent New Moon and solar eclipse from two weeks ago. At that time, all the outer planets were triggered, indicating that these past days have been especially useful for events that have shown you the way forward toward the profound transformation taking place in your life, during this time of change. In this Full Moon we have a highlighted presence of Saturn, lord of limitation, and also of Chiron, the Wounded Healer. These are difficult energies that we will of necessity be required to negotiate over the next two weeks. Slowly or more rapidly, we are all coming to recognize where the behaviors that we have tolerated for many years, are coming to the end of their period of utility for us. As inconvenient as it might be, or even perhaps painful, we are therefore faced with the necessity of letting them go.

With this Full Moon configuration, closely following the advent of the Spring Equinox of the previous weekend, we find an extremely prominent presence of Saturn, because still in close parallel with Pluto, and now parallel to Mars also, while greatly slowing down in the sky, getting ready to station retrograde just two days after the lunar eclipse, on the 25th. This makes Saturn even more prominent. We will therefore see in the surrounding society, and for our individual arc of development as well, the reactionary push back to oppose revolutionary thinking. Within our personal lives we might well observe that forward motion in pursuing our agenda is not as easy as we once thought. This is not, however, a tragedy. We have the chance to really hone in on our goals and objectives at this time, and this could prove to be even more important than rapid forward movement.

Chiron, too, is highlighted greatly in this Full Moon eclipse configuration, being parallel the Sun and Moon, and by virtue of his close conjunction to the lunar South Node. Chiron is also exactly semi-sextile in the sky to Eris, one sign away in the 23rd degree of Aries, adding further emphasis in the direction of soul empowerment. Chiron represents knots — or 'complexes' - of broken-off energy, buried deep within our psyches, where we have been wounded in the past and may yet heal. The revival begins with concerted effort toward acceptance of these dark places within us without judgment, shame or blame, instead substituting a simple acknowledgment of their existence. Then we can begin to see the ways that they contribute to reactivity, and impede our progress toward what we truly wish for ourselves, long-term.

We also have a strong Mercury presence in this Full Moon eclipse, because the winged avatar of mental energy has just entered the sign of Aries, so therefore resides quite close to the Sun, and is catching up. Mercury is also trine to a slowing Mars, getting ready to retrograde next month. The awareness that this Mercury placement symbolizes is always a good thing, especially seasoned with a helpful dose of mystery in the form of Neptune in close square with the Mars/Saturn midpoint.

The Mars retrograde period does not begin until April 17th, and is yet a powerful presence in this Full Moon eclipse energy also, because so greatly slowing in his forward movement, moving only some three degrees of Zodiacal longitude between now and then. This decelerating of Mars is another important echo of the Saturn energy for making an about-face and taking our time, letting the information that we can glean from the events of our lives, and our reactions to them, slowly settle.

The Sabian symbols for this Full Moon are suggestive, and a reminder of the Sun and Moon in fruitful combination. They are, for the Sun in the fourth degree of Aries, "Two lovers strolling through a secluded wood together," which for Marc Edmund Jones represents "the first innocent rounding out of conscious experience," and "the complete flow of all efforts toward some proper end." He elaborates, "Reality is ever without meaning or power, except as it stimulates the Self to move in its own interest persistently and continuously whenever the least opportunity offers." For the Moon, in the same degree of Libra, we find the homey image: "A group around a campfire," bringing in the concept of community. Jones relates this symbol to "effective structure for further and greater objectives in life," and goes on to say, "Any reality broader that a simple self concern must have its origin in common responsibility [that] becomes the expression of identity." And we might add that any undertaking that furthers social goals, on the part of each one of us, reverberates through the ethers to help in the universal Aquarian Age movement toward consciousness transformation. This general awakening is the key, and the hallmark of these difficult, and yet in a subtle way very encouraging, times that we are living through, and helping to enliven, by our every studied action.

You get what you ask for if and when you act in alignment with what you want to get.

Taurus represents our lifestyle resources and needs. I use the term “lifestyle needs” because in truth, Taurus addresses the resources or desires we need to survive. It is the financial, material, and physical of our lives, and having those resources in place is what has us individually and collectively feel safe, comfortable, secure, and at ease. We feel taken care of when our lifestyle needs are met.

You may have heard the old saying “you get what you ask for”. In this month of Taurus (April 20-May 21, 2016), now is the time to ask for what you desire.

Taurus is the sign of all things material, physical, and financial and most commonly, our basic survival needs – food, shelter, sex, and such. Security and stability of these resources are associated with Taurus. Comfort and ease in obtaining these resources are also important considerations for Taurus. Even if it’s just one thing to affirm your intention, that one thing may be enough to bring forth what you’ve asked for.

And your actions actually need to be in alignment with what you are asking for.
If you are asking for a vacation to Hawai’i and the money comes up for you to take the trip, booking a trip to Siberia instead is not in alignment with what you asked for.
If you want to take the 9:00a train to work yet you choose to stop for coffee instead of getting to the train station in time to board, you miss your train.
Instead, follow through on your intentions and words. Book the vacation you intended and planned to book. Leave a few minutes earlier to get that cup of coffee and board your train on time.

Give yourself a chance in this Taurus period to ask for and act for what you truly desire.

After all, if you don’t ask, you may miss your chance. But if you ask then don’t take any action toward it, you may miss an opportunity to manifest that which you say you are committed to having in your life.
